      Hi K.O.

It will only connect using RMS from your local node. If you connect out to someone else's node and then connect back using C WSARMS it should work fine. Has to do with the C 6 CMS script in the APPLICATION line. Also works fine for anyone else connecting into the node, as well.

Sorry, I had to run some errands....

Okay, I have it working now.. partly.. problem was that I did not have a space between
      C and 6 in my APPLICATION script ( application 3,RMS,C 6 CMS,KB0WSA-5,WSARMS,150).

"RMS" works at my node, but "C WSARMS" does not... neither does "C KB0WSA-5".

Do you have any ideas on that? Does the ssid HAVE to be -10?

      K.O.

Here is what my telnet port looks like....

      ENDPORT

You also need to change your RMS application to work with the CMS access....

      APPLICATION 3,RMS,c 7 CMS,KD6PGI-10,HRRMS,255

So in mine.....C 7 CMS is the command to bring up RMS using the CMS=1 function. Hope this helps.

That does not work for me. When I connect to my node and type "RMS" it says it is not available.
If I type "CMS" it says it is invalid. When I am in my bbs and address a msg "sp rms:<emailaddress>
it does not get picked up.

Check out this link for the telnet configuration with CMS access....

You can just skip the winlink reporting for the time being....CMS access will still work fine. You do not need to open port 8778 for wl2k reporting to work.

Thankyou... so how do I set it up to work without winlink reporting? Do I need to open port 8778
in my router? Does it use the internet like rms packet? How does winlink know who I am (where do
I put info like base call and password) ???

Yes....CMS works fine without winlink reporting. However, you can add the winlink reporting to the bottom of your telnet port...

       WL2KREPORT www.winlink.org,8778,KD6PGI,CN95FQ,24/7 BPQ,145010000,1200,10,25,6,0
       WL2KREPORT www.winlink.org,8778,KD6PGI,CN95FQ,24/7 BPQ,145750000,1200,5,25,0,0
       WL2KREPORT www.winlink.org,8778,KD6PGI,CN95FQ,24/7 BPQ,440500000,1200,5,25,9,0

You do not need to worry about the L4 connection, just your VHF/UHF radio ports is all.

You can find the reporting info for the telnet server at...

      http://www.cantab.net/users/john.wiseman/Documents/WL2KReporting.html

Look specifically at the packet format for winlink reporting.

I need an example for a WL2KREPORT for 3 vhf ports, an ax/ip/udp port and a telnet port and
      a "network(L4) connection".

Will CMS work without a wl2k report?
