          Thanks for looking John.

My system is complicated.  I am running on the same PC Ubuntu the following software LinBPQ, Jnos with NosAprs, FBB, and DXSpider.

I have one radio port ax0 and added two pipes or tunnels with net2kiss for Jnos and BPQ to listen and access the radio port. com2 is ln to ttypb.  And 2 more ptyp/ttyp tunnels for communication between the other programs.

          # Radio interfaces:
          /usr/local/sbin/kissattach /dev/ttyS0 ax0 44.163.22.3
          /usr/local/sbin/kissparms -p ax0 -t 500 -s 200 -r 32 -l 100 -f n
          /sbin/ifconfig ax0 netmask 255.255.255.0
          #
          # AX25 LINK TO KERNEL
          /usr/local/sbin/net2kiss -i ax0 /dev/ptypa &
          /usr/local/sbin/net2kiss -i ax0 /dev/ptypb &

Testing, Incoming calls to my Jnos call HP2AT-1 on the radio port are answered OK.  ax25d.conf is setup to listen for my DXspider call HP2AT-4 and it is working OK.

Everyday I am trying to look for the code any errors on the ax25 and linbpq to solve this problem.  Maybe the errors is not in Linbpq and is in the tunnels.

This is my bpq32.cfg.  Please le me know if there is something unusual.

            Jose,

I suggest you try using the port name rather than com port numbers in the COMPORT lines, eg

            COMPORT=/dev/ttypb

It should work with COM2 symlinked to /dev/ttypb, but that adds an unnecessary complication.

If you monitor the BPQ node, do you see the SABM being received, and if so how does the BPQ Node respond?

            73,

            John

So, I will keep looking the configuration for an error.  Probably will try to upgrade the ax25-tools, net-tools to see if that solve the problem.

              Jose,

I suggest you try using the port name rather than com port numbers in the COMPORT lines, eg

              COMPORT=/dev/ttypb

It should work with COM2 symlinked to /dev/ttypb, but that adds an unnecessary complication.

If you monitor the BPQ node, do you see the SABM being received, and if so how does the BPQ Node respond?

              73,

              John

                Jose,

You really need to monitor what BPQ is actually seeing  and sending to confirm that the tunnels are doing what you expect.

You can either set up the TNC2 emulator and use a program like minicom, or use either the Linux or Windows version of BPQTermTCP.

                73,

                John.

In this test, I tried telnet to JNOS and calling in the radio port via HP2SM-6 to HP2AT-2 BPQ NODE.  It looks like the BPQ is responding in the ax0 port but the radio transmission is not going out so is disconnecting.  Tried the same telnet BPQ with same result.

                Jose,

I suggest you try using the port name rather than com port numbers in the COMPORT lines, eg

                COMPORT=/dev/ttypb

It should work with COM2 symlinked to /dev/ttypb, but that adds an unnecessary complication.

If you monitor the BPQ node, do you see the SABM being received, and if so how does the BPQ Node respond?

                73,

                John

                  Jose,

You really need to monitor what BPQ is actually seeing  and sending to confirm that the tunnels are doing what you expect.

You can either set up the TNC2 emulator and use a program like minicom, or use either the Linux or Windows version of BPQTermTCP.

                  73,

                  John.

                  OK John,

Thanks for letting me know I can use the device name directly in the COMPORT.  I thougt only accepted com number.  I eliminated the symlink and put it directly.

Still not responding BPQ or applications in the Radio port to incoming calls.  Tried changed to another pttypb/typb to ptype/ttype but not luck.

I usually use fbbW to monitor remotely the FBB and to monitor the activity no the channels but that only shows me only incoming packets received.

Now, I tried another method to monitor both incoming and outgoing packets using SSH to login into the Linux Box and issue "listen -chat" for the raw packets.

My nearest digipeater is HP2SM-6.  I did some testing telnet to the system and going out the radio port via HP2SM-6.

This is the Beacon and is goint out OK in the radio port via HP2SM-6 and WIDE2-2:

In this test, I tried telnet to JNOS and calling in the radio port via HP2SM-6 to HP2AT-2 BPQ NODE.  It looks like the BPQ is responding in the ax0 port but the radio transmission is not going out so is disconnecting.  Tried the same telnet BPQ with same result.

So, I will keep looking the configuration for an error.  Probably will try to upgrade the ax25-tools, net-tools to see if that solve the problem.

                  Thanks,

                  José / HP2AT

                  Jose,

I suggest you try using the port name rather than com port numbers in the COMPORT lines, eg

                  COMPORT=/dev/ttypb

It should work with COM2 symlinked to /dev/ttypb, but that adds an unnecessary complication.

If you monitor the BPQ node, do you see the SABM being received, and if so how does the BPQ Node respond?

                  73,

                  John
