This is a stunningly restored 1972 Schwinn Paramount road racing bike in the equivalent of Schwinn's original Flamboyant Red (metallic) paint and equipped with all the best period-correct Campagnolo parts--cranks, chainrings, pedals, seatpost and pinch bolt, headset, bottom bracket, derailleurs, shift levers, drop-out adjusters, and large-flange hubs with quick release levers. It is a true competitive racing bike; it has no provisions for fenders; the lightweight frame is made from Reynolds 531 chrome-molybdenum alloy steel with Nervex Professional lugs. In its day, it was the best of the best racing bikes with nothing but the best available equipment. Has fresh tubular tires on correct "Schwinn Approved" alloy rims, period-correct Cinelli Unica-Nitor plastic road saddle, correct Weinmann center-pull brakes with new white Weinmann rubber lever hoods, correct Cinelli alloy bars and stem, Schwinn transparent plastic red bar tape, Christophe toestraps,
Regina Oro freewheel cluster, and many other fine parts. Decals are new reproductions from Waterford Precision Cycles (the present-day caretakers of Schwinn Paramount heritage). Overall, the bike looks like new, the way it came from the Schwinn factory in Chicago, except for two small spots on the downtube where a previous owner installed bosses for a water bottle cage (could be covered by reopening the threaded holes and installing two stainless screws and/or a bottle cage--I can probably find the cage that came on the bike). Frame size if 21.5" from center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube.
