Trying again ... I have a bike for sale that is a real gem. It is boxed
and ready to go price lowered to $700 complete plus shipping. It is
      ready to roll.

      Thanks and regards Casper Casparian

My best friend and best man at my wedding had surgery to remove a brain
tumor in August. I'm helping him pay his medical bills by selling his extra
bikes and other gear. The descrip of the red Eddy Merckx (we call it
"Reddy") is below. The photo gallery is located here:

For sale, 1992 Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra production bike made with premium
Columbus SLX steel tubing. Bike is functional and in great shape, but not
      a concours machine.

The bike was built in 1992 and originally spec'd with Shimano 600 (Ultegra
6400) parts throughout at the time. The frame was repainted in 1997
(details below) and equipped with upgraded parts (drivetrain and shifters)
of the Ultegra 6500 line. It has been in storage for more than 10 years
and has had perhaps 500 total miles since the repaint. Bike was never
raced or crashed and it has seen only gentle use it is not a high-mileage

The standard Corsa Extra frame includes many useful features such as chain
hanger peg, shifter bosses, chromed (!) chainstays and wonderful etched
lugs and other parts bearing the classic "EM" bike-shaped logo. I have
shown a couple of these features in the included photo gallery.

      Dimensions are:
      Top tube: 59cm center-to-center
      Seat tube: 59cm center-to-center

There is plenty of room on this frame for nice cushy tires (it comes with

The frame was repainted in 1997 by Lizart, the reputable Los Angeles paint
specialist. All original Eddy Merckx decals were replaced with factory
originals. See also Lizart's small, tasteful decal on the left-side
      chainstay ahead of the chrome.

Because the bike was not ridden much at all since the repaint, the paint
is almost flawless with one exception: see the close-up of the inside left
fork blade in the gallery. This chip is the result of a minor bump when
the bike was moved in storage.

The bike is a mix of Shimano Ultegra (6400, w/ 6500 drivetrain), and is
presently 9-speed. Shimano 6400 parts have a nice silver finish, with the
exception of the dual-pivot brakes, which are finished in a dark grey
("anthracite"), shown in photos. You don't need to upgrade the parts. The
rear cassette is particularly clean and has almost no signs of wear (see
photo). The tires are in good condition and I see no dry rot.

Note that the pedals shown in the photos (Look) are NOT included but let me
know if you are interested in them.

      Details of components:
Ultegra 6400 (Shimano 600): dual pivot brakes, headset, bottom bracket,
crankset, front and rear hubs (36 hole)
Ultegra 6500: Front derailleur, rear derailleur, cassette (12-27), bar-end
      Ritchey polished alloy seatpost
Selle Italia Max Flite Gel Flow saddle
Cinelli mod. 64 (Giro D'Italia) bars 44cm center to center
      Cinelli 1/A stem, 120mm
Rims: Mavic MA40 front, Matrix rear 36 hole
      Tires: Continental Ultra Gatorskin 700x28c
