      Vintage Trek 720 Touring Bike 49 cm

      The frame is Reynolds 531C, butted tubing throughout with a full set of
      touring braze-ons (for front and rear panniers, fenders, 3 water
      bottles, etc.). The size is 19.75and the frame color is burgundy with
      blue cable housings. The bike has had one owner, was ridden only a few
      hundred miles, was kept inside, and is in very good condition.

      This is a classic, high-quality, light-weight road bike optimized for
      touring. The steel frame and relaxed frame geometry absorb road shock
      and provide a comfortable ride whether fully loaded for touring or on
      long day rides.

      The frame was built in 1984 at Treks U.S. factory. The model number is 720 and the serial number is 146009.

      Shimano alloy triple crankset (half-step + granny, 48/44/28), Sugino
      bottom bracket, and SR SP-11 alloy pedals with Christophe toe clips and
      straps;

      Shimano (half-step gearing) front derailleur, Sachs Huret Titanium
      Duopar rear derailleur, Suntour Winner 5-speed freewheel
      (14/17/21/26/32), and Sachs Huret downtube shifters;

      Mavic MA40 700c wheels with Specialized hubs and Specialized Touring-II tires (700 x 32c, 100 psi);

      Shimano BR-MC70 HD cantilever brakes with Dia Compe Gran Compe levers;

      Stronglight B-Hinault headset, Specialized alloy stem, Specialized I 38 alloy handlebar, and Cinelli cork tape; and

      Sugino SP-KC alloy seat post and Vetta saddle.

      The bike also includes color-matched (blue) Blackburn rear and low-rider
      front pannier racks, and water bottle cages, and color-matched Trek
      water bottles.

      The 720/728 touring bikes, dating from 82-85 were (and still are)
      highly-rated bikes for serious touring. The long chainstays, 47cm,
      provide heel clearance for the rear panniers, and contribute to a
      comfortable ride. These frames and bikes are still highly sought after
      by knowledgeable tourists. A similar steel lugged frame is not currently
      available except from a custom frame maker. In my opinion, these
      framesets and bikes will only increase in value over time. The steel
      racing Treks will never again be used by top racers for racing. However,
      the 720 will be used (and coveted) by top tourists well into the
      future."
