FS:Near Mint Full Campagnolo 1979 56cm Gios Torino Super Record Bicycle
I am the original owner of this beautiful 1979 56cm Columbus SL, ALL Campagnolo, super pantographed, Gios Torino RARE "TEAM iJSBOEKE" MODEL.
I purchased it in the Spring of 1979 in lower Manhattan as a frame kit. The frame came as a kit, in a Gios Styrofoam Box (which I still have), a small pot of blue Gios paint (arrived dried up in my kit), the all Wool Gios short sleeve jersey (the Team iJsboerke jersey is included but note it has a handful of small moth holes. Moths love wool and they have had 32 years to feast on this jersey), a Gios cap (the one labeled Gios is the original and the iJsboerke one I purchased later on), a Gios water Bottle ( the original is included--it failed quickly when the cap strap broke. I am also including a rare Gios Didi Thureau Bottle from the same year and a newer modelk Gios bottle), the Cinelli stem with Gios pantograph painted in red, the Campagnolo Record Seat Post that Gios Pantographed by putting in the vertical grooves and the Gios logo--note I painted blue in the vertical grooves), the Campagnolo Record large Chainring that Gios modified by cutting off the lower braces and then pantographed and milled the chainring--I painted in the Gios blue details), and also a brochure was included. I no longer have the Gios brochure but everything else is included AND MORE.
I have only put about 750 miles on this bicycle in the 32 years I have owned it. I am the only rider it has ever known and I liked it too much to ride it on the street and the frame is as close to MINT as you can get for a 32 year old bicycle that was ridden, albeit rarely. It was never dropped, never scratched, never ridden in the rain. I waxed it after every use and continued to add to it over the years.
I do not want to strip this beauty and part it out, even though as parts it is worth even more than if complete. I would like to sell it complete--all the next owner would need to do is add tire tubes, have the included shifter cables installed, and then tune it up. Included (separate from the built bicycle) are many very expensive vintage components. I will entertain all offers over $2600. You can call me at (518) 793-5234 to arrange a visit to see this one of a kind, museum quality classic. I live in Glens Falls.
