1346Re: [BASC] Bees on artichokes?
- Feb 8, 2014Just throwing out a wild guess here... Perhaps the recent rain combined with a record drought has caused the artichoke leaves to refract polarized light in a manor consistent with the UV florescence of an actually flower.

I have noticed in the past few days that they are a big hit with bees, which land on the leaves, scoot around with their proboscis extended, and then fly away. There is no water on the plants (and I have water elsewhere for the bees). Anyone know what an artichoke (essentially a really big thistle) has to offer honeybees?
