1001RE: [BCD536HP] Siren and Analyze functionality update from Uniden today on August 1st

It’s the opposite. Instead of the x36 looking “out” x number of miles based on the radius, you must already be inside the system’s/department’s/channel’s programmed radius to receive. The bottom line is that you are telling the scanner not to look beyond your current location for systems/departments/channels that are using location control. You will still receive all systems/departments/channel when you are inside of their radius rings.
Is 0.0 effectively no range limit (location on, receive ALL you can)?

The GPS works with all frequencies in the main database that contain coordinates (I have yet to see any that don’t). It will also work with all FLs that include coordinates as long as “Location Control” is turned on. When travelling, I will only use the main database, and keep the range set to 0.0 (zero).
