  • Re: And how does this fit the radio? Posted by: "david40_33711" david40@^$1 david40_33711 Sat Mar 31, 2012 5:48 pm (PDT) Looks darn near useless to me. It's a closed case so you can't operate the radio at all, without opening the thing. I like the hard leather case with the openings and sturdy quick release belt clip. I agree completely David!! Except mine never moves.it's mobile...

  • I have to say, whenever UPMan gets a question like that and replies as he does, I always get a big grin on my face!! (Being quite sure Uniden is continually working on new scanners...and yes, I have little doubt there are MORE than one in the works at all times!) • Just out of curiosity, have you considered buying the Uniden HP-1? I own both the 396XT and the HP-1 (along with several others) and unless I'm missing something here, I believe, with a little help from a sighted friend (or possibly even on your own), you could pretty quickly program the HP-1 and have it setup exactly like you want. You can also use it in a slipcase on a belt, just...

  • I have to admit I never cared for nor often used the USAD software for my 396XTs or my 996XTs. There was nothing wrong with it - I used it several times, but it just never "fit" for me. I will say it's fairly uncommon for a manufacturer to successfully produce and support software for scanners. The few times I've seen it done, it hasn't been particularly well. The USAD software...

  • Excellent list, Mark! Although I personally don't need them at the present time, I've saved (and backed them up...I'm somewhat of a fanatic about backing up lol) for future use. Thanks for posting them! Shell --- In BCD396XT@^$1, "Mark Levine, D.C." wrote: > > > Frequency Description Modulation > 118.6250 CCAFS Twr. AM > 118.9000 Space Coast RAP (launch-related acft). • *smile* This will be my one and only post on this (and technically, this topic shouldn't be on this group anyway)... I'm sorry Walter, your attorney is mistaken (attorneys are fallible, you know LOL). It is illegal to decode (decode being the keyword, not capture) the transmissions. Contrary to your friends in law enforcement, who clearly don't know the law, I do work with law...

  • Now that several individuals seem to have *blown up*, calmed down and repeated the "activities" a couple more times, the board somewhat appears to have regained some sanity... Walter, I'm very sorry you found yourself in the situation you were in! I have myself. And with Gommert's ARC software too - so I know quite well how you felt! But unfortunately one cannot solicit keys (i.e...

  • We're doing basically the same thing, Jim, in St. Louis County - although I doubt we buy as many encrypted radios as you do since we don't buy many. We have few interagency problems because about 20 yrs. ago we licensed 5 frequencies which are known as our riot channels (Riot A, B, C etc.) , for not only our cars but also all municipalities, adjoining counties and agencies to make...

  • Paul, If you've already received this info, sorry for duplicating it. If you haven't, then here is the latest data and should allow you to hear everything you want in Johnson County. If you're at all interested, Iowa City is also listed with the Johnson City data (just below it). There are links to both (on Radio Reference) for the data and what each is for. Shell http://www...
