      I thought I'd read somewhere that the extra CPU usage may slow down the scan speed?  I might be mis-remembering.  =%^(

      I haven't tried enabling it.  I assume it doesn't get rid of that slight digital "burbble" effect that characterizes digital signals if you don't have a full-bore signal?

      That could be encrypted TGs that the GRE scanners try to decode. This is
      something completely different. I've never heard of a high pitched noise
      problem on the GREs.

      This would only affect 'ringing' when you're actually hearing audio.

      Regardless, it's probably something that wouldn't hurt having enabled.
