        Cris:

I am willing to sit down with an online manual. I don't need to print it out, if you know of one. The online website that Uniden includes on the CD in the box with the radio isn't intuitive to me if you have to keep jumping around pages. If there is a PDF or something, I could handle that.

I'm a long-time GRE user and have many GRE radios, but just recently picked
up a BC396XT and am struggling to learn how this thing works and getting
                it programmed.

Is there a very intuitive online site that helps you under stand the quick
keys and all that? I picked up the 396 so I could learn Uniden's radios,
but I'm really having fits learning it having been in the GRE world for so
long. If you know of any website that helps understand this radio,
especially in conjunction with programming by software, please include some links.

Also, what program would you recommend using for the 396? I've tried a
few of the free ones and am not sure I like how they work. I'm willing to
pay as much as I need to in order to find a program that makes programming
the radio a cinch, letting me see everything programmed in the radio with
ease. The free programs seem to take so long to upload and download, a much
different experience than I have had with the programs for the GRE scanners.
Please don't recommend the free programs as I am ready to move on to
paying for the best program possible for this radio.

                Thanks and 73, Chuck, N2DUP | scanning1.com | twitter.com/ChuckGysi

When I got my 396 I found it VERY difficult to figure out what to do. I
found an on line description of the System/Group structure Uniden used
which helped, but when I got Freescan it became clear --- strongly recommend
FreeScan --- its free, intuitive and helps you to sort out the structure..

I am willing to sit down with an online manual. I don't need to print it
out, if you know of one. The online website that Uniden includes on the CD
