Subject: [BCD396XT] Custom Band Plans for Rebanded Motorola Trunked Systems

For the BCD396XT to be able to scan a re-banded system such as UCAN
      (http://www.radioref erence.com/ apps/db/? sid=601), do I need to program both
of the so-called band plans below? What does the band plan do and why are
two of them necessary? Do I need to enter these two band plans for all
sites within the trunked system? Where can I learn more about this?

Attached is a screen capture of FreeSCAN for the system I'm programming. I
entered the two band plans as specified and I would like to know if it is
      correct.

      Thanks!

Yes, but you still have to program it correctly.

Assuming it is a "normal" rebanded system, you would program it as Motorola
Type II 800 Custom and use the following band plan entries:

Band Plan Base Freq (Lower) Base Freq (Upper) Offset Polarity Spacing
      1 851.025MHz 854.000MHz 440 + 25 kHz
      2 851.0125MHz 868.9875MHz 0 + 25 kHz

Isn't the BCD306XT automatically "fixed" to handle the rebanding?

      Brian,

Thats an easy one to set up, just use the red and blue CC channels for each

site. The system is analog Mot type II. Where you may be having problems is
that the system is rebanded so you may need to set up the tables for it.
Someone on RR should be able to give you the correct table for it.

      John
