- Published Monday, December 29, 2008, Denver Business Journal
Colorado Railcar has closed
Colorado Railcar Manufacturing LLC closed Dec. 23, the company
announced on its website <http://www.coloradorailcar.com>.
The announcement said the Fort Lupton-based company, which makes
self-propelled diesel rail cars and domed, locomotive-pulled rail
cars for tourist railroads, "has a major liquidity problem, and its
lenders have a secured position in the assets of the company. The
company is in the process of liquidation. The company has no
employees effective Dec. 31, 2008."
The announcement is made in the name of President and CEO Larry Salci,
who came on board in April. He was the former executive director of
the St. Louis area's metro mass transit agency. He took the place of
Colorado Railcar founder Tom Rader, who was the company's sole
shareholder, according to an April announcement of Salci's hiring.
No one at the company could be reached for comment on Monday.
