$1 million allocated to keep All Nighter buses running
By Kiley Russell
AC Transit's All Nighter bus service has survived for another year.
The Metropolitan Transportation Commission on Wednesday allocated
$1 million in toll money from the Bay Area's bridges to keep two
late-night bus lines running.
One of the lines, Bus 800, runs between downtown San Francisco
and the Richmond BART station via Oakland and Berkeley.
The 801 runs near the Fremont BART line between the 12th
Street/Oakland City Center and Fremont BART stations via the
International Boulevard corridor through Oakland, East 14th Street
through San Leandro and Mission Boulevard through Hayward, Union
City and Fremont.
Both lines operate from about 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. on weekdays, from
about 1 a.m. until 6 a.m. on Saturdays and until 8 a.m. on Sundays.

MTC has allocated more than $2.5 million since 2004 to AC Transit
and other transit agencies to operate late-night bus service.
