      Letters to Business

      S.F. Centre's cruel omission -- parking

The New Westfield San Francisco Centre will include Bloomingdale's,
a nine-screen movie theater and new restaurants ("Bloomie's to blend
old with the new," July 24).

Developers say the center will "attract more than 20 million
shoppers a year." Combined with the adjacent Nordstrom mall, the
center "will be bigger than either Valley Fair in San Jose or
Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto," they say.

Yet, no new parking! That's just cruel.

Developers downplay the concern and city officials insist people
will go by Muni. I may leave home two hours early to catch an
international flight, but not to catch a movie.
