Parking fees helping BART's bill
The $2 parking fee that Bay Area Rapid Transit riders pay at the new
airport extension is helping a cash-strapped transit district offset
operating costs for the new station.
The parking fares that raise approximately $1 million annually were
initiated when BART opened its long-awaited $1.6 billion extensions
through four stations, including San Francisco International Airport,
on 8.7 miles of passenger service track on June 22.
