I found a bit of pottery that I'd overlooked (it was at the bottom of a box of 'jumble' that I hurriedly filled and moved out of my basement during a flood a few months ago), and I have some handmade soap that I could contribute as well.

Subject: [Midlaurel] Benefiting the SCAUnto my fellow companions of the Orders of the Laurel and Chivalry of the Middle Kingdom, Greetings from your humble brother RanthulfR,The SCA could use a hand here. I am trying to spread the word about something and I need your help. As you may know, there will be a Gala with an Auction to benefit the SCA at Pennsic this year. It is surprising how many people do not know, so we want to start a "buzz." The money raised will be divided between the SCA and the kingdoms, but the project is having some trouble gaining momentum. That's where we need folks like you. In a nutshell, I am asking you to help spread the word by cross-posting this message everywhere and by telling people at your local meetings, or anywhere else you think might be effective. Details of the event are found on this web site: http://knowneworldauction.org/In addition, I am asking you folks with artistic skills to please consider making one item for donation. So far, there have only been a few pieces submitted, and not nearly enough to do the job. It doesn't need to be a 50 hour project. Just something nice that someone would want to buy. It could take an hour or two, or whatever you feel you can do. An auction is nothing without something to auction. A fundraiser raises nothing without the combined generosity of artisans willing to donate even the humble effort. This is a chance to really make a difference, so please consider making something in the next two or three weeks. Information can be found on the web site under the link for artists. Under the link for bidders is a digital gallery being created so people can preview the works before Pennsic. If you could make something sooner than later and get a digital image emailed to the coordinator, that would be awesome.FYI, I have a contribution which has not been added to the web site yet, but you can see it at:http://www.randyasplund.com/pages/scribepg/proudsca.htmlThank you all for your help. Every little bit is a help, but every little bit when given by every person is HUGE. If we pull together we can make this happen and it will be spectacular!RanthulfR
