Oh, my goodness, how awful for you! I work in a public library too, and these are nervous times throughout the state, to be sure. We've been reading about cutbacks in services that are state-funded, as well as consolidation among systems, because the funding just isn't there. I hope everything works out okay for you, and all the other displaced staff and patrons.

Subject: [Ayreton] Cancellation of A & S Demo at Library
I regret to announce that that A & S demo at the Galewood-Mont Clare Library on July 10th has been cancelled.
The Directors of the Chicago Public Library have voted to close our wonderful little library. Yes, it was very sudden. Apparently the landlord has not paid hisproperty taxes on the building the library is in, so the city is required by law to terminate our lease for the facility. Negotiations broke down with the landlord and we must vacate the library in 30 days. The library will close permanently on June 30. Everyone is totally devastated by this. We just started our Summer Reading Program this week and have already signed up more than 200 kids. Now the children will have no place to go. When I find out to what library I will be sent maybe I can do a demo
there so please keep me in mind.
Thank you to all who have volunteered to help at the demo.
Yours in the Society,
Lady Gwenllian Sion Crestin
