Over the past few years, the Grey Gargoyles camp has been open to
everyone that has wished to camp there, however this has resulted in
the camp losing its identity as a camp for the Shire of the Grey
Gargoyles. In an effort to re-establish camp identity, permission to
camp with the Grey Gargoyles will be limited to campers (and their
spouses and dependents) that fit into the following categories:

-Current members of the Shire of the Grey Gargoyles-
Students, faculty and staff of the University of Chicago, residents
within the geographical boundaries of the Shire of the Grey
Gargoyles, or active members (regular attendees of meetings,
officers, or present on rolls of the Gargoyles sent with Domesday
Reports) of the Shire of the Grey Gargoyles with no other active
affiliation with another Shire within the incipient Ayreton barony.

      -Alumni-
The Shire of the Grey Gargoyles is centered at the University of
Chicago and, as such, alumni of the Grey Gargoyles will forever be
Gargoyles, just as they will forever be alumni of the University of
Chicago. Without their support and participation in the past when
they were students, faculty, or staff members, the Grey Gargoyles
would not exist today. We have also had past alums who live in far-
off places (such as Germany) who have such great memories of the
Gargoyles that they join us for Pennsic.

      -Friends of Gargoyles-
Friends or family of current-year campers with the Shire of the Grey
Gargoyles that fit into either the current members or alumni groups
that have that member or alumni in the camp as an official "sponsor"
or sorts. Friends and family will be held to the same
responsibilities as their sponsoring camper and their sponsor will,
in addition to the actual friend or family member, be held
responsible for that camper's fulfillment of camp responsibilities
and behavior in the camp. No one camper may sponsor more than four
      (4) other campers.

We realize that this will cause some campers to need to find a new
place to camp, and apologize for that inconvenience, but that is why
we wanted to send out this notice withas much notice as possible to
make planning time available for other options. The idea for an
Ayreton camp has been proposed for a couple of years now, so maybe
this may be taken as an opportunity to pursue such an idea in
      earnest.

If you have any questions or concerns, please send them to
      Grey.Gargoyles.Camp@....

      Thank you.
