Evzenie brings up a good point below, which I want to highlight:

*snipped a quotation of a previous Towne Cryer missive about PIB business, plus some stuff about the meeting...

"... we might be reaching a point, depending on the outcome of the initial petition, where it's no longer a good idea to keep making it up as we go. Of course the process of becoming a barony has its own procedures, etc, which will need to be followed. But there are plenty of other "baronial matters" that the populace of the barony will want to have some say in establishing. Careful thought about how that gets done should, IMO, be part of that process.

I agree with Evzenie on this point.  Not speaking as the Towne Cryer, but just as myself, a citizen of Ayreton, it's my understanding that that will be a large part of what the PIB officers will be doing -- establishing the customs, traditions, and policies of the the PIB, to be submitted to the populace for review and ratified if and when the PIB becomes an official B.  That is why I think the elections of the PIB officers are important -- the populace will be entrusting them to discuss such matters and come up with proposals to the populace of the PIB as to how to run things.
