I have a few PVM2541 monitors, but one of them keeps shutting off on power-up. Anyone seen this behavior? It started doing this just after moving to another room, so I’m hoping it’s something obvious that I’m not thinking of. I’ve tried connecting it directly to ‘shore power’ rather than through the power conditioner, but it exhibits the same behavior. Worked fine before we moved it, although I haven’t tried moving it BACK to it’s previous location, maybe I’ll try that tomorrow.

I’m going to try moving it to it’s original location, once I get a delivery done this morning, and see if the behavior is the same - maybe I have a bad outlet or power conditioner? Seems unlikely, but it’s just as unlikely that the monitor would fail simply because we moved it to another room.

I would have suggested you contact Gary Mandle at Sony, he was always helpful and informative on the Sony monitors.  Unfortunately last time I tried to contact him I got a response email he was no longer with Sony.

Does anybody know of a good Sony monitor contact like Gary Mandle was?  I miss him more than he will ever know.

From what you describe I would suspect the power supply isn't quite handling the load.  This is just a guess but when it tries and dies that's a common source of issues on all equipment.

Keep us posted on your tests.
