I'm bulletproof when it comes to proper Avid protocol. I have four copies of the Avid project across different drives, including twice-daily uploads to Google Drive and Hightail. The show's Avid media has three total copies, including a fully off-site location. New media is copied to the back-up every day, and to the off-site back-up every three days. So good on that front, at least. Yeah, when it comes to the Avid work I don't mess around :-)

You always have to assume hardware and drives will fail.
So you keep seperate backups of all media.
And you save you project every session. To a media drive as well as a USB stick you take with you. And upload to the cloud.
Copying your project is a simple quick end of session task. Do it every session.
