- Aug 13, 2018These are live off-air feeds? There is always the possibility for errors in transmission from an off-air program. And the longer it runs, the more likely for an error to occur. Errors and signal dropouts can result in capture stoppages.I’d suggest ensuring the highest quality off-air signal in order to lessen the likelihood of errors. On a different topic, how are you doing, Keoni? Anyone out there getting aborted CAPTURE when working with longer lengths: 65min ~ 5 hours+ ? The error message of 'Capture stopped: Keep or Delete files' appears. We have plenty of space on 15 drives; and have been capturing a lot of live, over-the-air broadcasts for Airchecks. The time elapsed after start of capture varies: it can stop in as little as 20 minutes; or as long as 2.5 hours later.
We don't let any other programs run during CAPTURES (we stop screen savers; stop Mac Spotlight Indexing; use CAFFEINE to ensure that display sleep or screen savers don't even have a change to begin; halt Microsoft services; quit Avid APP Manager and Background Services).
I am sure this is rare a s most here are in post and mostly working with file-based media; or if capturing either LIVE or from TAPE, not doing it for more than 2 hours at a time.
