The Inspire 2 can record video to h.264, various flavors of ProRes, and CinemaDNG. We ended up with FAT32 files rather than EXFAT (hence, the 4GB file-size limit)... IIRC, the the operator's idea was to force the files to be saved in case the drone crashed or something... ANYWAY...

We ended up using the transfer tool Convergent Design makes available for use with their Odyssey field monitor/recorders.
      https://www.convergent-design.com/all-downloads/category/8-cd-prores-transfer-tool.html

I don't recall exactly why we used the Convergent instead of something else, don't know if it's the best solution, don't know if it'll work for you. I was the producer, not the drone pilot or editor.

But hopefully at least this info may help guide your google searching...or prompt someone else here to chime in with specific information on why I'm a bonehead (an easy task) and how you should really handle this issue (a less easy task).

ap4x? That is ProRes Ultra Snob Overpowered quality.

I think someone plays a trick on you.
      How big are those files?
I very much doubt these were created in the sky, so the H264 is as good as it gets.

      Hi All,

I received some footage from a DJI Inspire 2 drone.

They are QTs using the "ap4x" codec. They are in individual folders
which represent one shot with individual clips segmented into 17 second
      chunks.

Any tips as to the best way to handle them? Is there a utility that
stitches these back together if I am going to transcode?

I was also given H.264 proxies which are the same 4k size but in H.264.
I am considering working with those and then sorting out the shots later
      for the online.

      TIA for any advice,

      Dan
