      The New Music Series
      The Luggage Store Gallery
1007 Market St. at 6th St
      San Francisco, California USA

      Thursday, July 5 2012 8:00 PM

      8:15pm Matt Ingalls
      8:50pm Shani Aviram
      9:30pm Giselle Eastman

Local clarinetist Matt Ingalls's music is heavily influenced by his long involvement in computer music, often exploring extended instrumental techniques and combination tones that interact with the acoustic space. Over the past decade, he has been honing his solo clarinet material into a single work: a 30-minute-continuous-micro-timbre-circular-breath-tour-de-force.

Shani Aviram is a bay area based composer and radio reporter. She holds a BA in Music Composition from Mills College, where she studied composition with Chris Brown, Fred Frith, Roscoe Mitchell and Maggi Payne, computer music programming with John Bischoff and piano performance with Matthew Goodheart. She composes for both acoustic instruments and electronics.
She has worked with the Eclipse Quartet and the William Winant Percussion Group. Her composition for glass bottles was chosen for the 2010 International Computer Music Conference.

Giselle Eastman is a Venezuelan-American composer raised in Fairfax, Virginia. She graduated with degree in composition at Louisiana State University under professor Dinos Constantinides and currently attends Mills College in Oakland, CA. Giselle is a clarinetist and frequently performs her own works, as well as participating in collaborative art/music events. She is currently one of the music editors for Delta Arts and Literary Magazine.

      Sliding $6-10
