  • From where would this trip leave? Would the outgoing flights be based in LA, Chicago, Atlanta, NYC? It makes a difference.... Smiles, Despina de la sounds like a fantastic trip! [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

  • Sorry about that, yes Yahoo strips the photos out. Moderators can do nothing about that, so it's either put the photos into the photo section of the group or put things on the web somewhere that you can direct others to view it (as you so wisely did, thank you). • Seriously, I am wondering if anyone knows the recipe that Donald Jackson uses for his gesso or if anyone has a gesso that works beautifully 'every time'. I have some upcoming bits that need to be gesso'd and, while my recipe is good, I am inclined to be lazy (which will probably have to stop in order for me to make good gesso) and not slake the plaster so I wind up scrambling for...

  • For those who think this is heavy handed, yes it is and I will admit it. When a thread of comment deteriorates into just plain being rude and throwing insuations that are insulting, it gets shut down. From polite questions on what people would like to see as expected and desired in the posting formats of this list, we have devolved into children scrambling to be 'seen' as 'better...

  • DeNae, Petranella is correct, and I love using silk thread for handsewing. If you want to use linen thread though, in keeping with your linen veil, I would suggest Londonderry's 50/30 linen thread. It will take you a bit longer, as linen catches more than silk (you can swipe the linen thread through some beeswax to smooth it out some, if you wish) and I generally use smaller...

  • >I read earlier that in Italy there was a sort of "superguild" in some cities that coordinaed between the guilds, but even that wasn't >governmental. I would say the closest think you could find would be a mayor/burgomaster. I disagree with the idea of mayor/burgormaster because it implies governmental power over an entire population, not just a subset of the population, which is...

  • Thanks Tasha, I kept looking at it and was unable to see what was wrong. I greatly appreciate your correction on the spelling. I am purposely leaving the two other emails attached so that the meaning and proper spelling can be attached to the proper post.
