      If you are looking for something that could both be registered with
      the SCA College of Heralds as your device/coat of arms *and* would
      not look out of place decorating your shield, you could consider
      choosing heraldic charges that combine to look like reasonable early
      Norse decorations. An example of this approach was registered in
