      Because I am anal-retentive about proper terminology, what you made is generically called a "parament" and is specifically called a "pulpit fall". A parament is an ornament or decoration, esp. an ecclesiastical ornament. Now usually: an embroidered hanging for the altar, pulpit, etc., as per the OED. A banner is usually hung from a wall or the ceiling or a pole but is not actually on the altar, pulpit or lectern.

      But be that as it may, your pulpit fall is beautiful and well done!
