- Nov 1, 2011This is one of those when/where type questions. Printed cloth very much existed -as early as the 12th C in Europe. It existed a LOT earlier than that in the East as well. However, this is woodblock printing. It is possible to prove that such a printed cloth was obtained through trade depending on the actual print.
