- CAGites,
It's me again, with another exciting opportunity open for all members. There's a lot of information here (I apologise), but I want to make sure I cover all the bases for anyone that is interested. Here we go:
My self and four colleagues are on the threshold of launching a brand-new website, called Game Flush: www.game-flush.com. It's a video game news site, with a humorous twist (think the Daily Show, without the Show bit).
The site officially launches on August 25th (there is something there now, if you all want to take a look as it does give you a feel for what the site will be like), and right now we are looking for advertisers. We're already getting some hits even now (our Google Ads account is nearly at $2.00, and it's only 2 days since the ads were put up), and while at the NYCC in October (I have a table), I will be promoting this site.
Game Flush is also listed in my bio on the Con site (yet to be put up). This is helpful for traffic as, I can tell you, around the time of the Big Apple Con last year (which I had a table at), I was (little known as I am) searched enough that my name was showing up in Google search as #5 in the list as soon as you typed "J. M. D" So I do believe people will visit the site once the bios are posted.
Last, I am trying to get an interview with a translator friend of mine who's worked on a few projects for big companies, including being one of the key-figures in the Localization for Final Fantasy XII. If I can get that interview, it will post only a week before the Con, and we will be promoting it heavily, as it should pull in a number of extra readers.
That said, these are the ad sizes, locations, and prices we are offering:
Leaderboard (728x90) - Located at the top of the page, underneath the Logo-banner: $20.00
Square Button (125x125) or Vertical Banner (120x240) - Located at the bottom of the right-side content (to replace the Google Ads currently there): $5.00 or $10.00 (depending on which you choose)
Any Horizontal Ad Size (From Half Banner to Leaderboard) - Located at the bottom of the page, just above the copyright information: $10.00
All ads will be present from the moment we receive a final, approved ad from you until the end of October (thus remaining up during those few weeks following the Con when we're likely to get a very large amount of traffic). What's more, if we are unable to find any advertisers after October 31st, it's likely your ad will remain up until we do (a possible free bonus!).
So, if you are interested, please e-mail me and/or send me your ad, and I will give you the payment information. Also, please be advised, I will be away from August 15th to the 22nd, and so won't be able to check my mail on a daily basis (I will do my best, so be patient, please). Still, I will be back before the official launch date. Last, all ad space will be given on a first come, first serve basis.
Any other questions, again, please e-mail me directly. Though, even if you don't decide to take out an ad with us, I hope you'll check out our first game review on Wednesday, August 25th, with my own article to follow on the 27th.
Thanks for reading. All the best.
Sincerely,

www.game-flush.com - J.M.,Just for the record...The Atlas forum is NOT part of CAG.CAG is it's own thing, and most of us have moved on.I won't debate the merit of CAG here, but posting something here and addressing us all as "CAGites" is like me walking into your home and addressing everyone as your ex-girlfriend.Please understand that I'm not mad at you, just requesting that you recognize the difference between CAG, and what I've spent a year building. The post is VERY welcome. It just raised the hair on my neck, as Atlas has PAID everyone and is extremely different from CAG (which has paid no one).I'd appreciate the recognition that we are ATLAS.

- Mark,
I'm well aware of the error; it was an honest mistake. In fact, if you saw my previous post about a PAID logo-creation opportunity, it was addressed to 'Atlas Unleashed.' The unnamable organisation in question, if you remember, has a forum here on Yahoo as well, and all this was was a simple copy-and-paste job. I of course meant to change the addressee (as I do every time), but it slipped passed me on this occasion (as happens to the editors of any piece of writing -- except the Bible, from what I am told).
I realised my brain-fart after the post went through, but did not think it was necessary to comment. I know some people from The Three-Letter-Word (formerly or currently) are involved with Atlas Unleashed and figured they'd see it as nothing more than a simple mistake. I'm sorry if it's so upsetting to you and if it's been taken as anything more than a typo.
Also, I don't know if you ever got my e-mail a few weeks ago, but I was wondering about the publication of Atlas's Horror anthology (with modern-day horror stories, which 'The Switch' was scheduled to be in). If copies are available before the NYCC this year, I would like to order a small number to sell at my Artist Alley table.
Please let me know through a private message. All the best.
Sincerely,
J. M. DeSantis
