Andrew Collins Newsletter - November 4, 2012 - Cygnus Day
From: "andrewcollinsweb@..." <andrewcollinsweb@...>
London, November 4, 2012. Lots of things happening, which I want to tell you about. I returned recently from eastern Turkey, which I went to as part of the writing of new book "Finding Eden", published next year by Inner Traditions. I started off in the area of Lake Van, where I was tracking down the ruins of an Armenian monastery where the monks actually believed they were in the terrestrial Paradise, and celebrated this in rituals. It is a brand new discovery, and what is important about this is that all the indications are that they were bang on the nail - their monastery was located close to the site of the Garden of Eden, where the four rivers of Paradise take their course. All good news for the book, which is mainly about Gobekli Tepe, the hottest subject in archaeology for a good many years, which I am trying to fully understand in time for the deadline, now set for the end of the year (so Christmas is cancelled, and the end of the world on December 21!).
Gobekli Tepe Aligned to Cygnus
Gobekli Tepe is an extraordinary place - the greatest mystery I have ever attempted to unravel. Who built it, and why? I managed to meet and interview lead archaeologist Professor Klaus Schmidt. I asked him everything I needed to, and he made some very constructive comments about much I shall be talking about in "Finding Eden". For instance, he admitted that he could not rule out the possibility that the large enclosures might incorporate astronomical alignments. This is good news, as working with engineer Rodney Hale I have finally nailed the alignments in the main structures. The enclosures target the entrance to the Milky Way's Dark Rift, marked by the star Deneb in Cygnus. More significantly, the successive temples shifted their alignments to follow Deneb's setting due to precession, the slow wobble of the earth. This is an important discovery, as it reveals potential construction dates for the monuments, which we found are precisely in line with the latest radiocarbon dates for the different enclosures. Claims that Gobekli Tepe aligns to Orion were checked carefully by Rodney, who found that they are completely wrong. For an Orion alignment to work, the main temples would have to be 1,000 years younger than the radiocarbon dates suggest. So be very careful what you read!!!!!!
Who Built Gobekli Tepe?
Having said all this, the astronomical alignments are just a small part of the book's contents. Mainly, I am trying to establish who was behind the construction of Gobekli Tepe. The descendants of the indigenous Epipalaeolithic peoples known as the Natufians probably had a hand in its construction. Yet I have found a strong connection with Egypt, something I suspect many of us expected, and when I say Egypt I mean Nilotic. Yet that is nothing new, I suggested a Nilotic influence in the foundations of civilization in the Fertile Crescent in "From the Ashes of Angels" in 1996. What IS new is my strong hunch that another major influence on the construction of Gobekli Tepe comes from, wait for it, Europe! I know this might sound tangential, but even Schmidt himself admits to a possible European connection with the Gobekli monuments, although he stresses that there is nothing like Gobekli anywhere else in the ancient world, and he's right. However, the European link introduces some extremely interesting new channels of investigation, which I am pursuing right now.
In the end, I think that Gobekli was created by a collection of different peoples who came together at exactly the right time and place, and catalysed the foundations of civilization. European, Nilotics, Natufians and probably others were all involved. The bigger question is why? and how?
Atlantean Temple Found
On to other things, a possible Atlantean temple has been found in the Bahamas. My food friends Greg and Lora Little this week announced the discovery of incredible ruins in 20 feet of water 30 miles south of the Bahaman island of Bimini. Click for the full story.
The strangest thing about the discovery is the blocks making up the ruins. They are made of a metamorphic rock called blueschist, which has a beautiful blue color. So if this really was some kind of Atlantean temple, it would have shone blue! Incredible! I have been seeing stuff like this in meditations for years!
The closest sources of blueschist are Jamaica, Hispaniola and, the closest, Cuba. For me the smart money would be on the blocks originating in Cuba, which I proposed as being the flagship of Atlantis in "Gateway to Atlantis", back in 2000. It was off the island's west coast that deep undersea ruins were found in 2001. Remember that story? The whole matter died a death because the people involved got greedy, but the story is unlikely to go away any time soon.
Anyway, check out the story, and read Greg and Lora's original story, which contains a brief video of the ruins.
Now down to business. I am selling some personal magical items via my friend and colleague Richard Ward's website ManMythandMagic.com.
There is some great stuff there, most of it unique. More items are to be added soon. Take a look by clicking here.
I have also updated the webpage for my new books on the website. All the classics are there. Click here to go to the main books page.
Graham Hancock recently told me that the latest discoveries at Gobekli Tepe are confirming everything I said in "From the Ashes of Angels" back in 1996, and is fully backing "Finding Eden". Do you have Ashes? If not, get a copy now:
Author and magazine editor Bob Trubshaw wrote to me this week about my book "The Cygnus Mystery" (2007), saying:
"I think your work showing the key role of Deneb/Cygnus in the Milky Way is your biggest contribution (so far!!!!!)."
And he means in any book! I really appreciate unprompted comments like this. It means a lot.
If you haven't got "The Cygnus Mystery", here's the link to buy the paperback:

Here's the link to buy the hardback:
"Gateway to Atlantis" was the first book to propose that Plato's main island of Atlantis was Cuba, a hypothesis that is becoming more and more valid as each decade goes by. If you haven't got "Gateway", get it now:
My recent book "LightQuest" shows that UFOs are light constructs that open up multi-dimensional doorways. These allow entry into exotic environments, bubble universes existing beyond space-time, sustained through communion with higher dimensional intelligences of pure energy. Crazy? You might think so. However, recently I saw a science documentary on other dimensions hosted by Morgan Freeman. Did you see it? He was talking about a brand new theory that proposes that light photons, which are produced by plasma, act as nano-like doorways into other dimensions. I thought, oh my god, that's exactly what I say in LightQuest! Not read the book yet? It's getting near Christmas. Here's the link:
This is for signed copies. Or you can get it from Amazon here:

Make sure you order it on Amazon via Rockery Books, who are doing it on the behalf of myself and the publishers Eagle Wing Books.
Then, of course, there is "Beneath the Pyramids", and the DVD "The Lost Caves of Giza". When I tell people that in 2008 I rediscovered an entire lost cave system under the shadow of the Great Pyramid, they think I'm having them on. They look at me as if I am a little odd. It takes some convincing before they realise I am serious. Here's the link to buy "Beneath the Pyramids":

And the DVD "The Lost Caves of Giza":
OK, coming soon also - news of tours to Gobekli Tepe:
DO YOU WANT AN EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME?
VISIT GOBEKLI TEPE AND THE GARDEN OF EDEN IN THE COMPANY OF ANDREW COLLINS
Andrew Collins was the first to bring Gobekli Tepe to the attention of the ancient mysteries community, citing it as the key to understanding the physical existence of the Watchers of the book of Enoch and the Annunaki of Sumerian tradition.
He visited there for the first time in 2004, and wrote extensively on the subject in his book The Cygnus Mystery, showing that its main enclosures were aligned to the star Deneb in Cygnus, c. 9500 BC. This has now been confirmed by new discoveries at the site.
He is writing again about Gobekli Tepe for new book Finding Eden, citing its place in the origins of civilization and the biblical account of the Garden of Eden.
During recent visits to Gobekli Tepe Andrew found himself inadvertently acting as a guide. He accomplished this with such ease that the now wants to share the beauty and mystique of this sacred site, the oldest in the world, with you.
Just who were the Gobekli builders? Who do the T-shaped pillars represent? Why was this sacred place built by hunter-gatherers nearly 12,000 years ago? Why was it abandoned around 8000 BC? How does its existence fit in with the age of the Annunaki gods and the coming of the Watchers, the human angels so brilliantly defined in Andrew's seminal work From the Ashes of Angels?
These are just some of the questions that will be answered both in Andrew's new book and on these unique tours.
If you are interested in learning more then email Andrew now. There is no obligation. You will simply receive progress updates, prices and tour dates directly from Andrew as soon as this information becomes available.
That's it. Enjoy Cygnus Day - November 4th. I chose this day back in 2007, because Cygnus stands proud on the northwest horizon just after midnight. I later found that even Shakespeare himself might have recognised this, and incorporated it into his play Hamlet. It is a long story I might write about one day.
