At Galacticon, just as Christine got word that the Ambulance's volunteer driver's truck wouldn't start, Gerry arrived from Coos Bay, weary from being stuck in traffic, costumes and displays in her truck. She was ready to drive right back down to The Dalles and pick up the Ambulance herself, drive through the night to get it to Seattle in time for Jewel Staite's photo op and the convention. (Fortunately, our driver was able to borrow a friend's truck and all went according to plan.) Joyful, dedicated, wonderful lady... I wish I'd known her better!

Apparently this morning. Her neice posted on her Facebook. 

We were just in Seattle with her a few weeks ago. 

I'll let you know if I learn anything else. She had reservations at DragonCon of course. So all very shocking. Our friend Abie was supposed to stay with her too. So crazy sudden.
