Everything went very well. She amputated to the mid/femur and neutered him as well. I wasn't aware that he wasn't! He has a little cold but antibiotics should take care of that. I will be able to bring him home in 1-2 days. They will see how he is doing tom. not sure if he'll come home tom but certainly Thurs. YEAH!!!!!He'll have to go back in 2 weeks for suture removal and check up and they could give him a bath at that time.JudyAnd here is a note from Mom (remember she is a nurse):I can take Shaft to my vet to be bathed and have his stitches out. I may just actually do both of those myself, as I usually take out all of my kits stitches. I have lots of experience removing them where I work at, so I am very comfortable with it.Again, a huge thank you for taking care of him, he must feel so much better knowing you are there and caring for him. I can't wait to meet him!!SueThank you Sue for opening your heart and home to Shaft, you are one of those Angel's that we always talk about and you already have a seat waiting for you in heaven, hope you know that!Judy, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for being always so caring and for looking over Shaft and taking such good care of him while in your care until he goes to his forever home.Thank you also for doing an awesome job in keeping us updated.Judy you are tops.:)Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Have a great night everybody and thank you again, you are all HEROES!Ah, yes remember to donate, please. We will send another update on Shaft in a few days.God Bless everyone.Celene AlbanoHPR Rescue CEO___________________________________________________Update 3 on ShaftUPDATE 2 ON ELEVEN NOW SHAFTI stopped at Central Animal Hospital after work to check on Shaft. I met with my vet Dr. Cheryl Gross. Cheryl was scheduled to perform the surgery between 12-3 but canceled it as Shaft was running a fever-105.5 and she did not want to risk putting him under sedation and performing the surgery. Normal temperature for a cat is 102.5. Shaft has been on the fentayl patch (pain med) which sometimes causes a spike in temperature. They retook his temperature while I was there and it had gone down to 104.5. She said he is a real mush! If his temperature is down to normal tom., Cheryl will perform the surgery.Below you will find Shaft's foster mom update after visiting him at the hospital today.Donations are urgently need for him, please if you can donate any amount at all we really need to cover the payment for his surgery as $1,700 is way too much,we never expected a bill this high.this is way higher than we estimated.Yes he has a sponsor but this is honestly way to much for one person to pay alone in these hard times. Please help, please any amount you can donate it adds up.Thank you all and God Bless you, please keep Shaft in your prayers as well. This poor kitty has certainly gone through a whole ordeal and it is time that the pain and suffering stops, please pray for him for his temp to come down so the surgery can be performed once and for all so he can be on the road to happiness and love with HIS FOREVER MOM, Sue.Yes you heard right this boy has an awesome forever home with a wonderful family in Ohio and what do you know Mom is a nurse.:)Sue is a great friend a lovely person and has been an HPR foster parent for quite a while.Even though Shaft doesn't know it yet he has an awesome future ahead of him!Miracles do happen! And you are all a huge part of this miracle.:)Here is the link to donate:If you will like to donate to the vet clinic directly please call:Central Animal Hospital @: 914-723-1250Thank you always for caring and for your support. For those of you who have donate already "THANK YOU" you have really made a difference in Shaft's life, you have saved his life as your donation will build his future, a much brighter future full of love!God Bless you all.You are all "ANGELS".HPR is a 501C3 organization your donations are always tax deductible. Please share this message with everyone you know, thanks.Celene AlbanoHPR Rescue CEONow please read Shaft's foster Mom update below:They took me in back to check on him. They offered to bring him into a private room but I thought it best not to disturb him. The poor baby looked so sad. His eyes were a bit droopy. That, of course, is understandable as he is in pain and discomfort and still has no clue what happened to him. They had a cover over the front of the cage to give him privacy as he doesn't seem to appreciate the dogs in the back. (most of the vets and back office workers birng in their dogs and so they wander in the back). the tech said he hadn't eaten much today (they had refrained from feeding him this am as they had planned on the surgery). She was going to try feeding him something else.I will breath a lot easier once the surgery has been done and he is home with me._________________________________________________JudyBumps bruises and scrapes all over his body, a very bad infected open wound and a back leg with several fractures that has to be amputated. No internal injuries Thank GOD!He is stable at this time, eating like a piglet which is a good sign and waiting for his surgery. He is in no pain right now as he is on painkillers, on antibiotics and fluids resting comfortably at the vet clinic. Now more than ever he needs your help, please help him.The estimate for his medical is HUGE ranging between $1,500 and $1,700 much more than what we thought. The link below is Eleven's fundraiser page, please donate and share his page please. This is urgent as the surgery will be performed this coming Monday.UPDATE 1 ON ELEVENThis link below is for you to see the vet estimate for his surgery.http://members.petfinder.org/~FL584/Eleven%20estimate.pdfHe has a sponsor, the sponsor hasn't back down, it is just way too much money exactly $1,700 (could be more).Eleven's sponsor doesn't only help Eleven most of you who know Polly, know that she helps many shelters and many animals that have medical needs, if she spends all this money on Eleven she will not be able to help another animal in need for a long time.If we can all Chip in for Eleven then another animal needing medical will be save._______________________________________________In these cases even a $1.00 donation counts, if you cannot help please take the time to share this e-mail.To donate directly to the vet:Or Checks can be sent to:Hurricane Pets Rescue Inc.2160 Bay Drive West Suite # 14Miami Beach, Fl. 33141Thank you and God Bless you.Celene AlbanoHPR Rescue CEO.We still do not have anything confimed yet as to permant home or foster home, we have sent a few people that have inquired about possibly adopting some to foster him our sreeening application, but as of yet we only had one foster application back and is in Chicago.Unfortunately Eleven is in no condition to travel right now.So if anybody wants to open their heart and home to this boy please contact us @: HPRESQ@...I will send another update once i hear from the vet please pray for Eleven that he will be ok and that his injuries are not as bad as the shelter said they were.I do not want to make this long but the more i think about what might had happened to him, the more i think this boy was abused terribly and then thrown into the elevator shaft. This is why I think he is just terrified, traumatized and scare to death of humans right now, because of what some horrible human did to him, wouldn't you be?The driver that delivered him to the vet said to us that he was able to scoop him right up without any problems.I honestly don't think this kitty is feral at all.If you all think about it, come on how many feral cats do you see hanging around on the eleven floor of a building and what are the possibilities of the cat falling into the elevator shaft???I sure wish the shelter would it investigated this matter further!Anyway i will send another update throught the course of the day on him.Thank you all ANGELS involved in this rescue, thank you Cathy, Polly, Pam, MC, Judy all of you that want to open your home to him even if it is far and all of you who crossposted for this boy.God Bless you all,Celene AlbanoHPR Rescue CEOP.S. Don't get me wrong "all those far away homes" Eleven may be going to you once he is better, if we do not find a closer foster or forever home for him in NY.___________________________________________________This plea is critical-XXX URGENT!He is at NY animal control and needs a miracle. We have a medical sponsor for him (meaning his medical will be covered by a good samaritan), but as i said we need to pull a miracle to save him as his is already on the euthanize list for tomorrow morning. The shelter said he is feral, i bet NOT, the cat is just terrified, he fell from the 11 floor, is in excruciating pain with no treatment and is at a shelter, I would be very much feral too!He is just terrified from the trauma.I am sending this plea out at a National level because of the urgency of the situation. If you are not in the area i am sorry but you never know who has a friend, that has a friend that might be able to help.So please network this message.ELEVEN NEEDS A PERMANENT FOSTER HOME OR ADOPTER EVEN BETTER CAN YOU SAVE HIM?Please contact HPR If you can help eleven @: HPRESQ@...Time is of essenceThank you.Celene AlbanoHPR Rescue CEOwww.HurricanePetsRescue.orgBelow is the original plea for help sent to us.URGENT, PLEASE SAVE CAT CALLED ELEVEN, HE NEEDS HELP-URGENT-OMG-CT
