Dear President Bush,
I am extremely concerned about the reckless actions of Interior
Secretary Gale Norton. She has filled her office with lawyers and
lobbyists with strong ties to extremists from Big Oil, mining, and
ranchers -- known foes of environment. And together with her anti-
conservation colleagues, she is putting precious wildlife at risk
while she "sells" U.S. natural resources to big business.
Surely you and the voters you represent don't agree with these
I urge you to instruct Secretary Norton to honor the wilderness areas
that have been entrusted to her "in trust" by the people of the
United States. We need to save wildlife like wolves for future
generations of Americans and all who visit the U.S. If Secretary
Norton cannot respect the many commitments she made when she accepted
this important post, I implore you to ask for her resignation.
