Group Description

The Alum Rock volunteers group meets regularly to remove invasive plants and to plant native species.

. On third Saturdays we meet at the maintenance area near the log cabin. We meet at 9 AM SHARP. If you are volunteering identify yourself as a volunteer at the entry kiosk and the entry fee will be waived.

If you are under 18 years of age please go to our files area and download the AAP VSA volunteer form and have a parent sign the form.

A group of neighborhood volunteers meet to remove invasive species like yellow star thistle. This annual is considered to be California’s worst weed. With your help, we can eradicate this invasive plant from the park. Anyone who enjoys hiking, being outdoors, and giving nature a helping hand can help. Training in weed identification and removal is provided.

We also work each Monday , Meeting spot is subject to change. Please send an E-Mail to confirm.

In the Files area there is a file, alumRock plants1.pdf that you can download to your phone and which will help ID plants in the park while you are hiking there.
