      In case you have not read SOS Animals' appeal on The Times last week, please read on. Give your donation and pass on to all your friends.

      Appeal for animal ambulance – Please be generous

      SOS Animals has embarked on a fund-raising activity aimed at raising the necessary funds to purchase a fully equipped animal ambulance from the US.

      SOS Animals was set up by a group of animal welfare societies in Malta, which are involved in both education and fieldwork concerning stray, sick and injured animals. One of the aims of SOS Animals is to offer financial aid to the numerous volunteers carrying out work in different localities. It also strives to provide funds for the treatment of sick and injured pets whose owners cannot afford to pay vet fees.

      The cost of the ambulance is of Lm30,000.

      The ambulance will be presented to the Civil Protection Department who will operate it on a 24-hour basis.

      Donations can be made by sending a blank SMS to:

      50616000 for a 50c donation;

      50617358 for Lm1;

      50618071 for Lm2;

      50618914 for Lm3

      50619209 for Lm5.

      Please note that the following SMS numbers are now ACTIVE on both Vodafone and
      Go Mobile:

      Donations may also be made directly into two bank accounts:

      Bank of Valletta 40010183469 or HSBC 040095366001.

      The long-term dream of SOS Animals remains to collect enough funds to be able to build an aftercare centre/animal hospital.
