Group Description

Aligarh Urdu Club is created to promote Urdu Language and literature. This group purpose is to discuss Urdu language, literature, as it changed over time, the famous writers, some very capable writers but who never got famous due to personal or unforeseen unfortunate circumstances. It is intended to establish a viable and effective communication link among Urdu writers, well-wishers, lovers of any race, religion and nationality.

This group was established, on October 24, 2007, by daughter-in-law of a renowned Urdu "Tanqeed" writer, (Late) Dr. Ibn-e-Fareed (AMU, Aligarh). Thus, the name Aligarh Urdu Club.

The membership is open to all Urdu writers, lovers, sympathizers, and readers from all over the world regardless of race, religion and nationality.

It is expected through networking, discussions and contributions from this forum a new respectable Urdu literature magazine would be born for the world community.

Although there is no restriction on the topics that can be discussed, however, it is requested that common ethical norms be followed and articles/announcements relevant to the promotion of Urdu be posted and discussed on this network.

The acceptable form of communication is, English, Urdu in Nastaliq, Naksh or Roman script, InPage attachment, GIF, JPEG, JIFF or PDF files in Urdu.
