      January 1, 2014 (4:26 pm)

On January 1, 2014, at approximately 12:30 pm, Takoma Park Police
responded to the 8300 block of Flower Avenue for a report of a stabbing.
Investigation revealed that the female suspect arrived at the male
victim's home by taxi cab and knocked on the door very loudly. The
female victim in the residence did not answer the door. The suspect
then walked to the rear of the complex and pushed in the air
conditioning unit to the apartment and entered the residence. A
physical altercation took place between the suspect and the female
victim; the male who lived in the residence was in another room. The
suspect took a broken tikki torch and started to hit the female victim
in her stomach, who is seven months pregnant. The male victim came out
of the room and became involved in the altercation to defend the female
victim. The female suspect stabbed the male victim with an unknown sharp
object and fled the scene in a taxi cab southbound on Hudson Avenue
      towards Sligo Creek Parkway.

The male victim was taken to a local hospital and then transported to
Medstar where he is currently in surgery. He is expected to survive,
but his injuries were serious. Metropolitan Police are working together
with Takoma Park on this investigation.

A lookout was broadcast to all surrounding agencies.

Takoma Park Detectives are looking for a taxi cab driver or a cab
company that dispatched a driver to the parking lot of 8302 Flower
Avenue between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm on January 1, 2014.

Detectives are still on the scene of this very active investigation.
The scene is being maintained and processed. Detectives are pursuing an
active lead as to the suspect.

No other information will be released at this time. When detectives
