Has anyone used Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer on all the wood parts prior to assembly and/or kevlar and dacron covering. I would think that it would protect the wood especially as I am using poplar stringers and ash ribs.
I have used CPES on various projects and boat parts and have found it capable of sealing the wood and not allowing water to penetrate.
One somewhat unique project was when I installed a new bathroom in our cottage. The floor was tongue and groove pine - pretty soft wood. I applied CPES (3 coats) all around and under the toilet in a 3 foot radius. Even SWMBO has been pleased with the results for the past 4 years.
