I have just put a layer of Xynole Polyester over the dacron skin of my
Classic 14. It is a new build. The uncoated dacron skin was first
given a coat of epoxy resin, then mostly cured. The Xynole cloth was
then added on to the coated dacron with more epoxy. Xynole when set in
epoxy yields a much more flexible composite than a fiberglass/epoxy
composite. If you would like too read more go to:
One disadvantage is that the xynole absorbs more epoxy than fiberglass
so there is more weight. Only time will tell if this is a good idea.
