Gordon, that was always my understanding as well, although I have never
invested any serious amount of time studying it. Notice the "tunnel ram"
intakes for V-8s running high rpms - very tall intakes with loooonngg
runners. Several auto manufacturers in the past few years have come out
with dual intake runner systems having short, small diameter low speed
intake runners for low-speed operation and long high speed runners that
open up when you really step on it. Usually they are "opened up" by a set
of butterflies, like in a throttle body.

Any truth to an item I remember reading a long while ago.
Short intake lengths tend to raise the torque curve vs RPM and long
intake lengths tend to lower it ?
