Unfortunately, there is not so much detailed information in any of them regarding the Sirige. I imagine the best sources may be Marcel Griaule's Masques Dogon(Dogon Masks) and Barbara DeMott's Dogon Masks: A Structural Study of Form and Meaning. Unfortunately, the former is rare and the second available but costly. If you have access to a good university library or museum reading room, you may be able to access these books. A good, general article that refers to the DeMott book can be viewed at:Another relevant work -- in french -- French is Anne Doquet's Les masques Dogons: Ethnologie Savante et ethnologie autochthone [ISBN 2865379620]Another on-line article on Dogon Masquerade......with links to images from another wonderful site:Here is the main link to the Dogon-Lobi" site: http://www.dogon-lobi.ch/index_800.htmThe article that accompanied the Dogon funeral photo essay by Shawn Davis that appeared in the Summer 2002 African Arts also makes the statement that "The tall Sirige mask is danced during the funerals of men who were alive during the holdings of a Sigui ceremony, which occurs approximately every sixty years. Yincomoli ceremony, Kedialy, 1997." The photos that were in that article do not accompany that text-only posting (http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0438/is_2_35/ai_94010406) but they can be viewed at:These photos and others by additional photographers can be viewed at the Friends of Mali site at: http://www.friendsofmali.org/en/photos.php#There is also an interesting account of a ceremony Davis witnessed during his sojourn there at http://www.worldviewmagazine.com/issues/article.cfm?id=84&issue=21More images from a variety of sites that are illustrative and perhaps instructive as well:Keep us posted on your progress in learning more about your Sirige masks! Thanks, Lee
