Group Description

10 April 2014

General Aviation keeps evolving. Unfortunately for me, I am not in a position to evolve with it at this time. The last time I flew anything smaller than an Airbus A319 was more than a year ago when my daughter let me have the controls of the Cessna 152 of which she was pilot-in-command. A couple of years before that, I got to fly the family to Mindoro in a Cessna 207.

My colleagues in the A320 used to ask if I still flew light aircraft. The answer was always, "I don't have the time." The desire burns in my heart to this day and I genuinely envy you guys who do it even semi-regularly.

Then I moved to the A330. Rosters are a lot less crowded and for the last three months I have been scheduled to fly less than 50 hours. I thought I would finally have time to fly Cessnas again. Wrong.

I'm now training for mixed fleet flying (MFF). I will get to fly small planes again but they will be A321s, A320s, and A319s. I will probably be flying about 80 hours a month again.

So the time has come to transfer the controls of the Aero Club to another member. Please contact me if you would like to become a moderator of the group.

Keep 'em flying!
