Subject: Hope For Youth 2013
To whom it may concern:
Seattle Parks and Recreation is happy to announce that $40,000 has been allocated in our 2013 Hope for Youth Grant program for increasing access to recreational and positive social development activities by providing scholarships to youth and teens residing in the Seattle area.
Established sports and youth serving organizations may apply for scholarship funding for low-income youth. Funding will support outreach efforts to diverse communities to engage youth that may not have participated in the past due to lack of money for participation fees. This funding will also provide an opportunity for organizations to increase participation by youth from refugee/immigrant communities.
If you would like to apply for funding, please complete and return the attached funding application. Completed applications must be received by Parks, no later than 5pm, Monday, May 20, 2013. Applications will be rated by a panel of representatives from Parks, Department of Neighborhoods and the community. Funding awards will be announced by Thursday, May 30, 2013.
If you have any questions please call Rebecca Karlsen at 206-684-7279 or rebecca.karlsen@.... Good Luck with your proposal!
Thank you for your time,
