- There are some exciting changes happening in Arizona's animal
Kari Nienstedt has been hired as the Arizona State Program
Coordinator for The Humane Society of the United States. Kari will
be working on animal issues across the state, focusing on the top
priorities of The Humane Society of the United States. The HSUS
protects all animals through legislation, litigation, investigation,
education, advocacy and field work. As you probably know, The HSUS
does not operate animal shelters and is not a parent organization to
shelters and humane facilities, although they do work together on

nationwide network of animal protection advocates that focuses on
critical U.S. federal and state legislation. Join the Humane Action

There will be a new point of contact for AZVegan and the local Farm
Sanctuary events. Kelly Cooney has stepped up to take on these
projects. She worked tirelessly on the Humane Farms initiative and
shows no sign of slowing down! Already, she has brought new ideas
and energy to AZVegan.com and is eager to start work on the upcoming
Walk for Farm Animals and Fundraiser Party, to be held in October.
