Arizona politicians and special interests are attacking the safety of Arizona 's wild animals and your voting rights by placing Proposition 109 on the statewide ballot this election.
Prop 109 would give the Arizona legislature "exclusive" authority over wildlife issues, denying voters the right to set wildlife policy. Not even the Arizona Game and Fish Commission could make decisions without the consent of politicians. This measure could open the door to cruel wildlife-killing practices, and even overturn previous restrictions on steel traps and poisons.
Four former Arizona Game and Fish commissioners have come out against Prop 109, which would amend the Arizona Constitution to govern hunting and fishing rights.
Linn Montgomery, Tom Woods, Elizabeth Woodin and Bob Hernbrode say the proposition would do nothing to provide scientific wildlife management as it claims and that is an attempt by the Arizona Legislature to take control of wildlife and take away voting rights on wildlife issues.
