      Reminder!
BONC Commissioners Leonard Shaffer Epperhart are asking for candidates for the Neighborhood Council Plan Review, which will meet approximately nine times between January and May this year. This is an earnest commitment that involves work that may significantly change they way NCs function. A total of 15 will be chosen for the East region. Candidates do not need to be board members but should be familiar with NCs and their issues. The deadline is January 11.

This week, the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners approved the Neighborhood Council Plan Review and Reform Initiative (NCPRARI), a process intended to examine the ordinance governing the Neighborhood Council system and make recommendations for improvements. The Neighborhood Council presidents will soon be contacted to submit nominees to serve on the NCPRARI working groups. The three groups will be set up on a regional basis using the City's area planning commission regions: North and South Valley / Central and East / Harbor, South and West. Each working group will have 15 members appointed by the Commissioners overseeing NCPRARI (read Commission Happenings for more information).

Prior to January 1, we will be sending emails to each Neighborhood Council president, explaining the process and asking them to nominate individuals to serve. The initiative is expected to begin in late January and conclude before July 1. For more information, please email Commissioner Doug Epperhart at douglas.epperhart@....
