      General Board Meeting

      Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010 – 6PM

      AGENDA

      1. Call to order/welcome to community: H. Garcia

      2. Roll Call:

      3. Minutes: Vote to approve minutes of the General Board meeting held March 3rd, 2010: (P. Marquez) and May 5th, 2010: (R. Gutierrez)

      4. Welcome to elected officials, staff and guests: H. Garcia

      5. Recognition of departing LA-32 NC General Board members: CD14 Councilmember Jose Huizar

      6. Seating of the newly-elected LA-32 NC General Board: H. Garcia

      7. Board selects an Executive Board election facilitator (Facilitator cannot be a candidate for an Executive Board position)

      8. Facilitator accepts two volunteer Stakeholder assistants: 1. Vote Counter 2. Vote Count Recorder

      9. Facilitator opens nomination process by asking for nominations/self-nominations for all Executive Board positions in the following order: 1.Corresponding Secretary 2.Recording Secretary 3.Treasurer 4.Vice-President 5.President

      10. Facilitator declares nomination process closed. No more nominations accepted for any position.

      11. Facilitator introduces and invites candidates for the Corresponding Secretary position to make a two minute maximum presentation to the assembly. This will be followed by a hand vote election.

      12. Facilitator introduces and invites candidates for the Recording Secretary position to make a two minute maximum presentation to the assembly. This will be followed by a hand vote election.

      13. Facilitator introduces and invites candidates for the Treasurer position to make a two minute maximum presentation to the assembly. This will be followed by a hand vote election.

      14. Facilitator introduces and invites candidates for the Vice-President position to make a two minute maximum presentation to the assembly. This will be followed by a hand vote election.

      15. Facilitator introduces and invites candidates for the President position to make a two minute maximum presentation to the assembly. This will be followed by a hand vote election.

      16. Newly-elected President assumes role of meeting facilitator

      17. Temporary Alternates: The President shall consider appointment of a few Temporary Alternate board members as per existing LA-32 NC By-Laws

      18. Public comment: Comments only on non-agenda items: Public comment is limited to two (2) minutes per speaker and for a total of twenty (20) minutes, unless waived by the presiding officer of the Board.

      19. Future Agenda Items: Outgoing Executive Board recommends that the new Executive Board consider filling vacancies as per existing LA-32 NC By-Laws at the next (July, 2010) General Board meeting.

      20. Adjournment:

      Comments from the public on Agenda items will be heard only when the respective item is being considered. Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the Agenda that is within the committee's subject matter jurisdiction will be heard during the Public Comment period. Public comment is limited to 2 minutes per speaker and for a maximum of 20 minutes, unless waived by the presiding officer of the board. In compliance with Government Code section 54957.5., non-exempt writings that are distributed to a majority or all of the board members in advance of a meeting may be viewed at El Sereno Senior Citizens Center, 4818 Klamath Place, LA, CA 90032 during the monthly General Board Meeting held the First Wednesday of each month.
