      LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A 47-year-old teacher suspected of sexually assaulting students at the Highland Park high school where he worked 15 years ago was arrested Friday in Bell, police said.


      Peter Christopher Gomez of La Habra was arrested around 4:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of Bell Avenue by detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Northeast Station Sexual Assault Detail on suspicion of felony sexual assault, authorities said.


      The alleged assaults took place in 1999, when Gomez taught at Benjamin Franklin High School, police said.


      Gomez currently teaches drama and history at Bell High School, according to police.


      He was being held in lieu of $950,000 bail, police said.


      Investigators were seeking other possible victims and anyone who may been victimized by Gomez was urged to contact detectives Tina Teague or Michelle Gomez at the Northeast Station’s Sexual Assault Detail at (323) 344- 5742.
