11. FUNDING REQUESTS
11.1. Neighborhood Purpose Grant for 7th Annual Peace Walk. (Outreach)
Motion: ASNC shall approve NPG for up to $800 in support of 7th Annual Peace in the Northeast Walk on April 5th.
11.2. Outdoor Banners. (Outreach)
Motion: ASNC shall spend up to $500 for two banners for the following purposes: 1) ASNC Board Meeting announcement to be used at Ramona Hall with interchangeable dates; 2) Two general ASNC banner to use at outreach events which fit the width of a typical booth.
11.3. Materials for April 19th Spring Event. (Ad Hoc Election Committee & Outreach Committee)
Motion: = The ASNC shall approve funding up to $350 for materials in support of an April 19th Spring Eggstravaganza event in Sycamore Grove Park.
11.4. ASNC Election Outreach Materials. (Ad Hoc Elections)
Motion: ASNC shall spend up to $500 in election outreach funds for materials, room rental and refreshments in support of a Saturday February 15th Valentine Candidate Workshop at Ramona Hall, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
11. 5. ASNC Election Outreach Materials. (Ad Hoc Elections)
Motion: ASNC shall spend up to $760 for helium balloons and equipment for election outreach efforts.
11.6. CERT Training Materials. (Montecito Heights Local Issues)
Motion: ASNC spend up to $1200 for fifty CERT vests, helmets and backpacks for graduates of CERT training starting March 2014.
12. NEW BUSINESS
12.1. Formation of Ad-Hoc Committee on Bike Lanes on Figueroa (President)
ASNC to form ad-hoc committee to report on survey results on bike lane survey released in spring 2013 and to recommend any needed further action by ASNC. Stakeholders and Board Members invited to join.
12.2. Speeding on Montecito Drive (M. Gomez or R. Payan)
Motion: ASNC to submit a request to the LA City Department of Transportation to mitigate speeding on Montecito Drive by considering placing Center Line Demarcations Reflector Dots especially on blind curves in an effort to implement speed-calming measures along Montecito Drive.
12.3. Flattop CIS (C. Pierron)
Motion: ASNC to send a Community Impact Statement (CIS) in support of CM Cedillo’s motion 13-1670 to preserve Flattop as open space. http://clkrep.lacity.org/onlinedocs/2013/13-1670_MOT_12-11-13.pdf.
12.4. Dash Bus Line (C. Pierron)
Motion: Move that all the local issues committees put the development of a DASH bus line on their agendas to determine community input and support. PLUC requests that at least one PLUC member be present at each meeting when the topic is discussed. The initial meetings to focus on community involvement and developing the preferred routes/stops with subsequent meetings and efforts made to get petitions signed and other events to gain support.
